The Belgian Team did fight hard at the 22nd European Iaido Championships 2015 in Berlin !!!

One day seminar with 22 countries represented, everybody in the team exited and happy to meet all European Iaido friends and receive the teaching of 3 great sensei: Yamazaki sensei, Kusama sensei and Azuma sensei all Iaido 8th dan Hanshi.

Nice competition results with 3 medals: 1x Silver, 1x Bronze and 1x Fighting Spirit. In Godan – Fighting spirit Yuki, Rokudan – Bronze Michael and Nidan – Silver Kim Croes. The team won the Bronze medal with a team composed of Kanto Yuki, Vervack Valentin, Kim Croes and Daan Heungens.

The BYK was well represented this year within the team with Philippe B., Michael S., Kanto Y., David D. Gregory V.G. and Everybody enjoyed the seminar, the competition and of course the after keiko moments.

The 18th Belgian Iaido Championships 2015 took place this Sunday 10/05/15 in Sint-Niklaas. Belgian Iaido level is increasing every year and we were rewarded with thrilling matches and finals. Congratulations to all the participants and organizing Dojo: Tamiza Kendo Kai

The Brussels Yaegaki-kai did very well this year as well as our Eishin-Kai brothers from KIG and Kenhachi. The BYK had 6 competitors enlisted with a final result of 7 Medals:
– Silver for Yuki in Godan
– Fighting spirit for Eric T. in Sandan
– Silver for Greg in Nidan
– Bronze for David in Nidan
– Bronze and Fighting spirit for Fadel in Shodan
– Gold for Nicolas in Mudan

Competition was followed by gradings. Congratulations to:
– Greg who passed his Sandan
– Fadel who passed his Nidan
– Nicolas who passed his Shodan

The Brussels Yaegaki-Kai wish you all a happy new year 2015 – Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu – May the year of the sheep (Hitsuji 羊) bring you good health, happiness and success. For all of us budō addicts we wish you a lot of intensive Renshu followed by relaxing dai ni dojo “second dojo”, make a lot of new friends through practice and have fun in your day to day life.

Two days of seminar with 19 countries represented, everybody in the team exited and happy to meet all European Iaido friends and receive the teaching of 3 great sensei: Sakono sensei, Kusama sensei and Aoki sensei all Iaido 8th dan Hanshi.

Great competition results with 7 medals: 3x Gold, 1x Silver, 2x Bronze and 1x Fighting Spirit. In Mudan – FS Daan, Nidan – Gold Steven, Sandan – Bronze Valentin, Yondan – Gold Jonathan, Yondan – Bronze Marjan, Godan – Gold Yuki, Rokudan – Silver Michael + Examination success for Daan in shodan. Belgian Iaido Delegation 2014

The 13th Edition of the ABKF Koryu Seminar was held this 22-23-24 august 2014. The seminar was organised as part of the ABKF Summer Seminar and was located in Louvain La Neuve, Belgium.

This edition was again a success thanks to the wonderful teachings of the Japanese sensei delegation composed of:

KATSUMATA K. – 8th Dan Kyoshi – Tamiya Ryu
FURUICHI N. – 8th Dan Kyoshi – Muso Shinden Ryu
TSUCHIYA N. – 7th Dan Kyoshi – Eishin Ryu

This year the seminar gathered more than ninety practioners from different countries. Let’s continue to train hard …
