The Brussels Yaegaki Kai is an Iaido (居合道) dojo located in Brussels (Uccle) Belgium. We hope that this website will promote the development of Iaido. A Japanese martial art coming directly from the samurai-time.
The Brussels Yaegaki Kai - Iaido Club Ucclois is an affiliate of the All Belgium Kendo Federation (ABKF), which itself is part of the International Kendo Federation (IKF). Membership in the Brussels Yaegaki Kai dojo is open to anyone interested in learning Iaido and all skill levels are welcome. View our training hours page.
The 17th Belgium Iaido Championships 2014 took place this Sunday 18/05/14 in Havré (Mons). Belgian Iaido level is increasing every year and we were rewarded with good matches and thrilling finals. Congratulations to all the participants and organizing Dojos: Butokukan & BYK
The Brussels Yaegaki-kai did well this year with a Godan Gold medal for Yuki, Yondan Bronze medal for Eric, Sandan Bronze medal for Tochan, Shodan Bronze medal for David, Mudan Silver medal for Fadel and the participation of Patrick (Sandan), Greg (Nidan), Fred (Shodan) and Nicolas (Mudan). Congratulations to Fadel who also passed his 1st Dan.

This Belgian Eishin Kai keiko was a great opportunity to practice Eishin ryu all together following our shishō Oda sensei’s teachings. Two group were formed: one advanced leaded by Philippe sensei and another one for beginners leaded by Michael. The atmosphere was great and everyone was eager to learn and have a lot of training. The 20th European Iaido Championships was this year organized in Meze, France. The Belgian team achieved a tremendous job in the individual taikai by winning not less than 8 medals Bruwier Philippe 6th dan Silver, Simonini Michael 5th dan Gold, Kanto Yuki 5th dan Bronze, Vandenbussche Jonathan 4th dan Gold, Vervack Valentin 2nd dan Gold, Vijverman Yvan 2nd dan Bronze, Cool Steven 1st dan Gold, Croes Kim 1st dan Bronze. On sunday the Belgian team composed of De Block Marjan, Cool Steven, Croes Kim, Defraeye Luc won the Silver medal.
